It’s late November. It’s cold, it gets dark early, and apparently “we’re doomed”. I’ve recently done my best to avoid the news as much as humanly possible as it’s all I can do to stop slashing my wrists when it comes on the TV or radio. Recession this, jobs loss that, pension troubles here, Europe on the verge of collapse there, strikes causing disruption, cuts causing more strikes. My oh my oh my, can these broadcasters – and it’s every single one of them - make us any more unoptimistic or depressed?
